ABOUT

Eleanor Miller Headshot

I'm Eleanor Miller Riggs -- I recently graduated with my M.A. in Folk Studies with a focus in Historic Preservation from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky. I live in and am originally from Louisville, Kentucky. I received my B.A. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Louisville in 2013.

My interests include applications of folklore studies to education, unionization efforts, discussions of public lands, folk art, archives, museums, and Appalachian culture. I am passionate about the interdisciplinary potential of a folklore worldview, which promotes cultural inquiry and understanding, as well as sensitivity. I look forward to applying my education in folklore to a career in museums, archives, historic preservation, research and writing, or non-profit community programs.
